I get that, and I know I’m really late to the party, but I agree with ranger, how it read and how it appeared were very different. There’s a difference between a slash and “I’m going to break this over your wrists,” which is inference I got from that.

In a game where the hockey stick can quickly become a weapon, the players are required to have their stick under their control, even ‘off balance’. A high stick will get called if it gets seen; so should a slash (by whatever name you want to assign it).

Indeed. He wasn’t even looking at Bolland as I recall. He took a swing at the puck and his stick came around and caught Bolland on the follow through.

“slash from Jannik Hansen” You make it seem like it was intentional. Clearly he was off balance and making an attempt for a puck that took a strange bounce.
