It was a back-and-forth game that was tied until midway through the 3rd period. Final score was misleading; 2 of Buffalo’s goals were in the last two minutes. Buffalo played well and certainly earned the win, but saying the B’s “got their butt handed to them” is a bit much. Let’s be honest, they were due to have one of these close games break the other way.

6’8″, 270 vs 6’2″, 215. Yes, it was a beatdown, but it would’ve been embarrassing for Scott if Thornton had been able to hang with him.

They certainly got that win, and kicked the B’s ass while doing it. The jury is back out on this Bruins team. I thought they were the real deal but to get your butt handed to you at home like that was ugly! Let’s see how tough this team is and can they rebound. Congrats to the Sabres.

There’s no debate there between Ott/Roy. That wasn’t really what the trade was about anyway. That was addition by subtraction. I can agree on Roy being a skilled player (his numbers have always been in the 60-80 pt range), however I’d take Hodgson (and any of the uncertainty that comes with this stage of his career) 100x out of 100 over Roy. Missing Derek Roy is like eating an egg salad sandwich that’s been sitting in the sun for hours in the hopes of getting food poisoning. We got taken on that deal, at least on paper- but getting a guy with character (as opposed to Roy, who totally lacked character on and off the ice) was an upgrade.

glad to see there are at least some sensible, intelligent hockey fans still left on this site. i hope buffalo follows the advice of the couple of neanderthals on here who are encouraging fighting and running down goalies instead of scoring goals and winning the game because then boston skates into the dressing room with a couple more points. if this were the playground i would tell you you can’t let your friend get beat up then come around a year later and say you’re ready for revenge. handle it then and there or don’t.

You obviously dont know Lucic. He only fights when the time is right because he actually has an offensive role on the team. It’s why he wouldnt fight Laraque and why he turned down Komisarek 47 times during the last few years. I love these people who are still up in arms. Is it bc the moment when there was supposed to be payback, Lucic pummeled Gaustad? So, now you want another crack at him? This is perfect for the Bs. Scott is a bum so the longer he is out there, the better.

So lets run each others goalies for the next few years because that’s the only way to deal with it. This was already settled. I mean I hope Buffalo is distracted by it because they will lose the game, but this was over a long time ago so there is no ‘business’ to be finished. That’s only in your eyes bc you’re so emotionally upset over this. Lucic shouldn’t fight Scott. It’s of benefit to the Bs that Scott stay on the ice bc he sucks. And unlike the Sabres, if anyone runs rask, there will be a reaction right away. The Bruins love that stuff.

Yes! That is exactly what Lucic is going to say…”No”. Why would he fight Scott when it is obvious that would be a bad trade off for the Bs? Lucic adds way more value than Scott. Scott being out there in the first place is an advantage for the Bs. It is the Laraque debate all over again. Just because Lucic can fight doesn’t mean he should. People have trouble understanding that. Instead, they call Lucic a wimp, like that makes any sense. The Miller thing is over. Maybe it adds fuel to the fire but the whole issue of ‘payback’ or whatever ended last year. Ruff knows it, everyone else should too.

Lucic is known to take dumb fighting penalties from time to time. He shouldn’t go with anyone that provides no other value to his team.

Unless that guy runs his goalie, in which case I don’t mind Lucic picking up a suspension for payback.

Unless CJ tells Lucic not to fight and Scott just chases him around all night ala Laraque. If thats the case the Sabers will lose. Lucic can also play hockey, Scott can’t.

not all of us….some of the more intelligent ones wont dwell on the past and remember Gaustad fighting Lucic last season. I would be pretty disappointed if we spent half the game chasing boston around for “revenge”, unless something dirty happened during the game. Buffalo, win or lose, I think will show up tonight.

Also to the people tend to think that we traded Roy(skill) for Ott(toughness) because we wanted to not be push overs, aren’t 100% right. Roy was on his way out, and I am glad Darcy got a more talented version of Gaustad.

I am happy about the moves darcy made…we lost Gaustad, Kassian and Roy, and gained Ott, Pardy(if it matters), Hodgson, and a 1st round pick that turned into Zemgus Girgensons, who has a bright future.

the team needs to play how they are built, around Miller. If the team is any good this season, they will win a lot of 2-1 or 3-2 games…

Running raask would be the worst thing buffalo could do. They already lost one player who is good at fighting. Ott is nowhere near a good fighter. The only answer is scott.

Take a look at the bruins team. They will drop the gloves before scott even comes close to hitting raask. Personally, id like to see lucic run miller again. Then we can have more articles about how miller is concusssed, wait not concussed, maybe a little concussed no no hes fully concused.
