I’ve been watching Skinner since he was in college. He was a cheap player since his 1st WCHA game. Been waiting for someone to “take him to task” for years. I’ve got a feeling it’s just a matter of time now.

Dirtiest player in the league!!! Hahaha, that’s hilarious. He’s certainly had 2-3 questionable plays in his career. But dirtiest in the league, you cant be that stupid.

From a B’s fan…

A) Bergeron had every right to be pissed- hard to say if this was intentional or not, but it could have been pretty bad, and Bergeron has no way of knowing if it’s an accident- so he took issue with it. I’m fine with his reaction, and I’ll bet Skinner is a lot more careful next time he faces Boston.

B) The last person on the Bruins roster who should be talking about dirty play is Brad Marchand. Fun guy to watch play, but… not exactly Lady Byng material. If someone else was complaining about Skinner I might take it more seriously, but Marchand doesn’t exactly have much of a leg to stand on here.

Love how 90% of you made this about Marchand. Brutal. Fact is, he’s right about Skinner. For a guy like Bergeron to flip out then you knows there’s something to it. Bergy is as classy as they come. That was very dirty and dangerous play by Skinner.

C’mon…that’s like if Wayne or Mario said someone scored a nice goal going and people “oh yeah, you’re one to talk”

I’m a Bruins fan – glad that Marchand is on my team, and hope he grows into a more mature player.

But the suggestion that he can’t comment on another player’s dirty play because he’s dirty? That makes him uniquely qualified, if anything, to call it as it is.

That was an ugly play.

Leave Marchand alone he “Nose” what he’s talking about. Dirty as hell but not the biggest diver. That honor clearly belongs to Miss Kristina Letang.

My boss and I were discussing it. Bergeron is the most even keeled barometer. When he is taking the gloves off, it’s more for than some trash talk.

Missed it last night because I was watching the break down the ice, but it only took one look to see how dangerous that was.

say what you want about Marchand. He did it, admitted it, and knew he had to fight because of it. Marchand is getting better. He is a pain, but he seems to be focusing more on the instigating; face wash, love taps, etc.. – he’s cut the dirty stuff out, the stuff that can jeopardize careers. He learns. He’s not Raffi or Cooke getting suspended for the same thing over and over again. Hopefully he stays on this path cause he can play and he’s more effective when he is agitating on the ice rather than watching from a luxury box. Bergeron is a great person for him to be around. The fact that Bergeron went after skinner really should prove there was something there. that’s two slew foots and a kick in a year- what you would expect from a 160lb figure skater?

Can’t stand Marchand or the Bruins, but he’s right. That’s a dirty play that can cause career ending injury. Marchand may have done it in the past, but that does not negate the validity of his argument. Bergeron was justified (in hockey parlance) in going after Skinner. I REALLY hate goon hockey but I would not have had too much of an issue with Lucic or Chara going after Skinner for trying to take out one of their star players with a dirty play like that.

I think a Bruin’s post on PHT that also discusses Marchand must send off a extra strong signal to habsman more so than a normal Bruin’s post on PHT. I’m surprised it took until the fifth post. I wonder if he was like an iPhone app that alerts him to all Bruin’s PHT stories within seconds of them being posted or do you think he just sits there hitting refresh?

As to the subject of the post, whatever you think of Marchand doesn’t make what he is saying any less true. It’s not like this is the first we’ve heard of Skinner’s foot work. He did have a nice goal last night though…roofed it!

I think Marchand genuinely feels remorse for his former actions and moreover seems genuinely concerned for the well-being of his hockey brethren and the future of the game in general.

Uh-huh. Right. This would be like Matt Cooke going on a pedastal against hits to the head. At least Cooke has the brains not to try.
