Actually, the first time a national anthem was booed (?) was in the seventies at Yankee Stadium before a Blue Jay game. New York fans booed the Canadian anthem a short time after our consulate in Iran rescued American diplomats from Islamic extreamists.

Just a side note on habsman. He has not commented a single comment on the Subban signing and instead has decided to talk smack about Boston fans.

Back to the topic at hand. Dougie looks like he belongs on the ice. Like a commenter said yesterday, there is something different about the PP when Dougie is the QB.

Baltimore based Bruins backer here. Ah, habsman. You know for awhile there I didn’t think we’d get to “enjoy” your spiteful and hateful targeted comments about the Bs and their fans. No fan base is perfect. And Boston’s is one the most, if not the most, passionate in all of sports.

And their teams, some of the best as well. I think you know that if the Bruins stay healthy, they’ll have a long and deep run in the playoffs. Does that keep you awake at night? The thought of the Big, Bad Bruins hoisting the Cup again?

The thing is it’s the pretty much the same roster as last year and even the year before. The past few years, the only positions that have been ‘in flux’ have been the third line wing (Ryder-Pouliot and now Bourque) and that 6th d-man (Kaberle-Corvo and now Hamilton). Hamilton is obviously here for the long haul and I like Bourque. He is a good fit with that line and his family has a history here, which I think adds to the team’s reputation in a way…They were already a team New England loves and having a Bourque on the roster makes it more so. It’s kind of a connection to their history. The great thing is their growth and the future is just based on the development of a young roster (vs trades and acquisitions). They are in a good spot as an organization.

Just watched this kid own the Canes in the last two minutes with a beautiful set up for the winning goal. Bruins have a ridiculous roster.
