Yes I understand that assistant coaches don’t just wear ear pieces on the bench.

Geoff Ward is the PP coach. I know CJ is the head coach, but most coaches have assistants run special teams.

One of their big problems on the PP is their first unit. Krejci, Seguin, and Chara work great out there, but Lucic and Horton are just too slow and stationary and Lucic is a terrible passer (any Bruins fan tell you that) they both have good shots. Maybe mixing in Peverly, Kelly, or going with 2 D like Seidenberg or Hamilton with Chara on the first unit would work better. Most of their PP chances have come from the Bergeron, Marchand, Peverly, Bourque, and Hamilton unit, but they only get about 40 seconds a PP while the first unit is well over a minute.

They have never had a good power play under Julien. It just is what it is at this point, unless they bring in a coach and let him have free reign over the PP, it’s going to be terrible.

It’s not talent so it’s got to be a system or a psychological thing at this point. Dougie as the QB seems to work though. There are flashes of ‘something’ when he is running things from the top of the zone.

I’ve been arguing for two seasons that they need to set up Seguin on the wing and just feed him one timers for 2 straight minutes a la Tampa and Stamkos. The kid is a gifted scorer that can snipe with the best of them. Let him shoot until his arms fall off.
