Good hit. I probably wouldnt have been as definite until I saw the replay like the commentators were. But, they were right. As we’ve seen and heard before, if the hit makes you leave your feet its clean. If you leave your feet to hit, dirty. If you pause the video at the 1:09 mark you will see Stuart’s left shoulder into Landeskog. Stuart’s feet are on the ground. Immediately after that, his feet are off. Landeskog’s head was down the whole time as Stuart stood up. Any contact that was made to the head was incidental. Stick was down, elbow tucked into his chest. You will not be hearing anything from the league regarding this hit. @ Drewsylvania, I have defended my stance, AND given you proof of a clean hit. You may thumbs down me now as it wont change your mind anyway.

So to all you idiots who thought this was deserving of a penalty/fine/suspension you’ll be disappointed to hear that there will be no further action or review regarding the hit, not that it was even questionable by anyone with half a brain. Even Landeskog said he thought it was clean. If you need help getting your heads out of your @$$e$ compare the NHL’s 3rd example of a legal hit to the one last night & try to find a difference between the 2 (a real one, not some imaginary, grasp at straws). Also, please keep in mind that Stuart doesn’t play dirty & Hahn & Remenda are probably the smartest, most objective NHL announcers out there, they have no problem calling out the Sharks when they do something stupid or messed up. Despite me being a Sharks fan myself, I’m pretty good at being objective about situations such as these as well (although I’m sure it would be impossible to convince you @$$clowns otherwise). Learn the game & use your eyes before you decide to post stupid, nonsense on here.

Brayden Schenn loses a game, then so should Stuart. Gotta be consistent. But here, it’s consistently wrong. Those hits are clean “hockey” hits.

The league set a very bad precedent last season with all this over-analysis and frame by frame retrospective nonsense. Do you know how fast the game moves? “See here in this 1/600th of a second, he decided to go for his head”…. give me a break. Is this what the game has become? For every hit there’s a lawyers squabble? Let the refs call it on the ice. If it is a CLEAR and INTENTIONAL head hit, i.e. Torres, James Neal in last year’s playoffs, etc., then you suspend.

Enough of this. It makes following the game so undesirable.

The biggest problem I have with this hit is that the ONLY contact happened to Landeskog’s head. In all of the legal hits, the two player’s bodies made contact too. That wasn’t the case here. I also understand that sometimes players can leave their feet while delivering a legal hit, but Stuart got just a bit too much air for me to completely believe that was the case. The trajectories don’t make sense.

I’m not saying that Landy shouldn’t have gotten rocked – it’s what you get when you have your head down around the blueline – and I have no problem with good, clean hits, even against my Captain. But after watching the replay frame-by-frame, Shanahan should definitely be taking a look at this one.

When I watched the game live I thought it was a dirty hit. But after watching several replays I’d say it was clean. Borderline, but still clean. I don’t believe his feet left the ice until after contact as a result of momentum. And any contact with the head was as a result of Landeskog having his head down. Just my opinion, we’ll see what the league says.

He didn’t target the head. Nobody actually targets another players head. Anyone who thinks an NHL player thinks ‘i am going to nail this guy right in the head’ before he goes and lays a hit is completely ignorant to the game. Nobody does that. I think he made too much contact with the head,and he’s going to hear from the league. But this garbage about “why does this have to happen?” when Stuart gets jumped is exactly what you hear from idiots who never played hockey in their lives. If you don’t every goof is going to take runs at your stars and see what they can get away with, F’that. I don;t care if his head was down, don’t care if it’s legal, you level someones meal-ticket, their teammate like that… and someone is going to attack you. Period. Its called hockey.

Gretzky and Yzerman got to play in this league a long time without much in the way cheapshots or getting destroyed, and a large reason for that was it was known, WELL KNOWN, that doing so will trigger a war in which Semenko, McSorley or Probert & Kocur were coming to start.
