Why? Roy’s signed ’till the end of the year and Benn was an RFA and not playing. Why would he split his attention when one player’s in the lineup for the rest of the year either way and can be dealt with whenever, and the other’s missing games because he doesn’t have a contract?

he’s also….
very bad defensively
very lacking in heart
which in turn makes him perceived as a bad teammate (and correctly so)

Fair point (I updated the text) but taking that season out of the equation, he still went 70-69-44, so there’s something to be said for his decreasing production.

That 35 point season is a bit misleading, because he played 35 games. Trying to tie that into a player’s production sliding is disingenuous IMO. He had a down year last year, where it was revealed he was playing with a shoulder injury. Other than that, he has been a very good scorer. Go ahead Sabres fans, give me your thumb downs.
