This is the last year of his contract. He signed it, he should honor it. If he thinks that he is worth more then next year when negotiations start he can ask for more money then. He hasn’t played 400 games or even 300 games in the NHL so until that time, pay your dues, shut the hell up and go back to the team and contract you signed. Too many times players think they are worth more then they really are and and more then they really deserve and he is holding a gun to the head of the Canadians. The Canadian should hold strong and then if Suckyban hasn’t come to his senses then the habs should walk from him. Your only as good as your word and thats what that contract was. He had no problem signing it 2 years ago, so live up to your end! Reality check……your not that good.

Last time I checked you’re a Restrictive Free Agent. Your fair market value is between 2.2 – 3.0 per year. Mr. Subban your not in the same class of Defensemen Karlson from the Ottawa Senators. Sometimes you just have to trade a guy so he can “get what he think’s is worth” and you can move on. Of course not seeing Subban with that trademark toilet seat on his sweater would take some getting used to.

And why shouldn’t he? Plays the most minutes, young up and coming Defensemen which in this day is highly coveted, he could easily get that on the open market no doubt. He isn’t doing anything more than anyone else in his position would be doing.

I’ve got news for you PK…while you may not be holding a gun, you are absolutely saying “pay me this or I’m walking away”, as evidenced by the fact that you haven’t signed a contract that isn’t to your liking. I’m no math genius but it seems to me like making $2M-$4M per season is a hell of a lot better than making $0M. And everyday you don’t sign makes you look more and more like that clown in the NFL named Mr. Revis. In case you haven’t heard of him, he’s not exactly the best guy to model your PR strategy after. Just an FYI.
