thetruth234567, the 2010/11 playoffs was a joke, boston won the cup with the help of BUTTHEAD/CAMPBELL/REFS the calls were so inconsistent it was so lopsided favor for the bruins. Again last season calls were so infavour of L.A.

You want a man fired from his job because of a bad call or 4! You think this ref should lose his livelihood, and fail to put food on his families table or put a roof over their head! I hope your faced with that situation some day. Where your customers want your job over a decision you made. I bet you would tell them all to go F#*k themselves. not officiating it with honesty, but with BUSINESS IN MIND, blow outs, teams running away with the division, and just boring defensive battles is bad for tv revenue! which hurts the already hurt owners pockets, who honestly are trying to keep this game afloat! so if u love hockey keep watching but DEMAND HONEST OFFICIATING!

HA! told all u pens fans its all about the owners making their money. read the COUPLE BOOKS ON THE DIRTY REFS IN THE NBA. you guys are 2-0 and ran into a candien team! which is struggling to even matter in this league! any ref on the planet could make those call correctly but it is bad business. and it was your turn to get screwed! just like the flyers earlier this week, the economy is costing the owners their money. its in every major sport in the usa, starting with the nba, who grew when they started reffing games to keep the games close with bs fouls and like a pens fan sd, non calls too. european soccer has blown the whistle on dirty officiating, even the international cycling federation with Lance Armstrong! even the US government turned a blind eye to it! anything that messes with the money will be ignored.

Officiating in all the major sports have been awful lately. Refs have been inserting themselves across sports trying justify their jobs and make names for themselves. League commissioners should spend less time punishing players and more time holding the officiating accountable!

Of course not. He also wasn’t penalized a few years ago in the Cup finals, when the rules clearly state that an instigator penalty in the last 5 minutes equals an automatic 1-game suspension. We all know the NHL considers your star power when looking at discipline.

While you’re here trying to make other people look incompetent, you failed to realize that many of us use the NBC SportsTalk app and there is no reply button nor are there any thumbs up or down on the app. Next time educate yourself before talking sh¡t. It would be nice if they would make the app more like the website it terms of being able to reply to a specific comment though.

Good. The officiating in that game was horrendous. The refs should be suspended without pay.
The Pens lose that game without the bad calls. They just weren’t on thier game last night. I saw them lose it right after that long stretch of penalties. Still does not make the poor officiating acceptable.
Please do not turn into the NFL.
Two athletic soap operas (WWE,NFL) is more then enough.

No secret about my liking of the pens. Not hiding anything, i enjoy watching the pens and following the team. There’s nothing wrong with that.

And Jaredphi: So this guy made a bad call a few years ago against your team, and now he’s obviously the worst. I don’t think so.

The officiating wasn’t that bad. Malkin and Crosby complain about EVERYTHING. All the time. Crosby will literally stop mid stride and let the puck get turned over just so he can get a complaint in to the ref. Malkin is slightly less whiney, but he’s still up there in rank with most spoiled 8 year olds.

First off, Malkin might be the 2nd best looking player in the NHL, behind SCSid and his luscious lips. These refs were awful to both teams. Joe Vitalle almost soiled himself laughing at the penalty he bought from these hack refs. Still wont slow down the SCA

I don’t think it was so much the call against them as it was the non calls for them. Early in the game Malkin had 2 obvious missed calls happen to him. One he had his stick held in front of the net (which I’m cool with if they are letting each team play) and the other was a little later when Malkin got bear hugged and thrown to the ice while trying to get position in front of the net. That one should be called 100% of the time. Another missed obvious call was in the 3rd when Sutter is skating the the puck out of his zone and gets tripped leading to a scoring chance the other way. That call has to be made. And another was during the 1st 5 on 3 while the Leafs were cycling the puck and Sutter tries to move to the top of the triangle but the leafs player leaves his path to “pick” Sutter and prevents him for getting there. That’s interference all day long and usually when a team gets a 5 on 3 if they sneeze funny the get called. But this was a obvious pick play that lead to a wide open shot for the top of the circles. Both Crosby and Malkin handled the situation piss poorly and probably hurt their chances of getting the call down the road. Let the coach lay into the refs if it needs to be done.
