The Vancouver Canucks will be traveling with a new air carrier when they depart on their three-game road trip to California, which starts Friday in Anaheim.
The team’s change in carriers comes after their old charter service – Air Canada’s “Jetz” – spent the NHL lockout refitting a number of its first-class planes for regular travelers, not professional athletes who demand plenty of leg room, cushy seats, and — well, since we’ve never flown that way, we can only presume a couple of those chocolate fountains.
The Canucks will now use Flair Air (Woooooo!) a service out of Kelowna, British Columbia.
No word if other NHL teams will follow the Canucks’ lead.
Assistant general manager Laurence Gilman told the Vancouver Sun that all seven Canadian teams, plus a handful of American clubs, had been using Jetz.
