5 games and the Isles, like a lot of teams, didn’t want to focus on the kids in a short season. That’s why Ryan Strome was sent back to Niagara==without complaint BTW.

Nino’s just a kid. He is no doubt frustrated at not being in the NHL. He has been pushing to get there all along. I’m guessing that his agent goaded him into this because the agent wants his client to get better compensation so he’ll get a bigger cut. He isn’t being well served by his agent in any event. The AHL is the best place for him now and likely where he’d wind up if he was traded as well.

19to77 is the same person who said yesterday that Nino thinks the Islanders plan on keeping him in the AHL until he’s 30 and that he’s “wasting away” on the Islanders, while being among the AHL leaders in points.

His opinion on the Islanders means nothing (yet I still feel the need to point out how clueless he is)

As jl9830, Garth has a plan and he’s sticking to it. He wants Nino to have a full season in the AHL so he can rebound from his abysmal rookie season.

Boyes is a former 40+ goal scorer who has looked good so far, despite not scoring. At the very least, he is a stop-gap until the organization feels that our prospects are ready. So go ahead and say that Snow doesn’t know what he’s doing by keeping Nino in the AHL. You’re probably one of the same people that say the Isles ruined Josh Bailey by rushing him to the NHL. The Islanders can’t win in the court of public opinion no matter what they do

He more or less said he wasn’t happy. Why else would his agent, the person Niño pays to repesent him, tell Snow he wants to be traded? Happy players don’t ask for a trade. Unless Niño fires his agent very soon you have to believe his agent was doing what he was told.

Who said he’s told him ten thousand times? And since when do 20 year olds who had 1 point in a full NHL season last year get to run the show? Garth Snow is the GM; he runs the show. He hasn’t done a single thing wrong. Nino needs to pipe down and play hockey. Calm down; I can’t understand all the vitriol towards Garth Snow. He’s been a good GM for the Islanders.

Because Nino had 1 goal and a -29 last year in the NHL, and Islanders want him, along with Donovan, Ness, Sundstrom, and Nelson, to have a full season in the AHL.

Brad 23-points-last-year Boyes is in your top six? How the hell wouldn’t Nino be a better choice than that scrub? Grabner can play both wings. Set Nino up on whichever one he’s more comfortable with and watch him go.

You know damn well he’s pissed off at you, you know why, and you’ve known for a long damn time. Don’t lie to the camera, Garth. You’re bad at it.

Because he’s better served playing top minutes in the AHL instead of playing on our 3rd or 4th line. There is no room for Nino right now on our top two.

Why wouldn’t the Isles at least put him up for the 6 games and see how he does. If he needs more seasoning than you drop him down to the AHL. He couldn’t really hurt the team. If anything he could help them. Either way then they would know where to go after that.

don’t change the quote around to meet your point. he said “All conversations with players remain private, but I will say that Nino has never told me that he’s unhappy.” doesn’t say anything about telling what WASN’T in the conversations.
