As a Lightning fan I thought it was a smart trade, but I still miss Downie. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

Avs need to hold on to their picks they might be bottom of the conference if they lose a couple more guys.

What a devastating injury. The entire shift he was out there doing what he did best and was hitting anything that moved and then he hit someone in the corner and just dropped. Whether it was going into the hit or coming out of it is uncertain – I recall after the hit, he hit the ice and the Kings’ player looked down at him like something was wrong and Downie still had the instinct to pick himself up off the ice to get out of the zone as the Avs were about to enter the Kings zone (where he picked up speed at the blue line to get out of the zone)…..and then needed a lot of help back into the locker room.

This sucks.

Hated that dumb donkey when he was in TB. Always a thorn in the Caps side, Still hate to see him hurt like that, hope he makes a recovery, now that he is out west
