I don’t know how credible this story is, but Gretzky would be a good fit for the lost crown jewel of the NHL.

You`re right he knows very little about hockey. He would have no clue about day to day operations. Maybe you should call up MLSE and throw your hat into the ring ?

There is no doubt he was a great hockey player. But since being one of the greatest all time players his role in the front office/coaching have been questionable. He sucked as a coach in Phoenix and as the GM of team Canada he left Crosby off of the roster in favor of Todd Burtuzzi and Kris Draper in 2006 for the Olympics. As a figure head of the organization they would be hard pressed to find a better name. But depending how much control of the day to day operation he has it would be a gamble.
