Ferrante, you need to check your Facts. Flyers started the “94-”95 season 0-3-0. Not only did they make the playoffs, they won the Atlantic division title.

hard to just let 3rd on the team in scoring go and not bring in anything to replace him. losing jvr and jagr and gaining what? fedotenko and schenn? flyers took a gamble by relying on 3 guys with good rookie seasons to carry some weight – they’re not bad players but you have to expect a dropoff somewhere in their sophmore years, odds are not good that all 3 will be as productive much less better. its gotta come from somewhere else and i dont think briere solves it by any means.

Filthy uses Fedetenko to kill penalties, that is proof of what a disaster this team has become. Does anyone know the record for most losses to start a captaincy, because I’m pretty sure this Crosby wanna-be isgoing to start out at least 0-5.

First off how are they Clarkson goals? Last time I checked the goal scorer gets the notch in the goal column so they were definitely Parise goals. Second of all Zajac has only scored over 20 goals once in his career (25) and that was while playing in almost every game so tell me how you see him getting 30 in 48? Don’t count your eggs before they hatch buddy.

Why do people keep blaming the lack of scoring on Giroux? He has 2/3 of the goals on the team. People just want to blame the guy for really not doing anything wrong. Does he take a bad penalty every once in a while? Absolutely, but it’s because he is extremely competitive. That is something i WANT in a captain. He just needs to learn to be a little more like Pronger. Pronger has that fire and took terrible penalties when he was younger, but learned to channel the competitiveness elsewhere and began to earn the respect of the officials who eventually let him get away with things here or there. He just needs time. Let’s not get on the guy after 3 games for every little thing wrong with this team. I personally wanted Danny Briere to get the C, just to take the pressure and the unwarranted criticism away from G for a few years, but it is what it is and the kid really is a great leader for the Flyers. He embodies a Flyers captain in many of the ways that Clarke, Lindros, and Pronger did. Give him a chance before you doubt him.

oh, and when did Danny Briere become “Right Winger Danny Briere?” He has played some wing in the past, but HATES it. He has been primarily a center for the large majority of his career

Right on. The devils are the type of team where goals lost by one or two players can be spread out through the rest of the team. The devils excel at team play. With Zajac back and the young players proving themselves, I think they’ll be fine.

Doubt he will make a big difference. I don’t know, maybe it was to soon to slap the C on Girouxe? Maybe it is adding pressure, feeling like he needs to step up more. Or maybe Hartnell was lucky last year with his production and cant help G out as much.

Really not clear where the problem is, however i am enjoying it as i hate Philly. Dont get me wrong, they have talent. However they should not expect a lot on Hartnell and simmonds last impressive season.

First off, most of those 31 goals were Clarkson-goals. Parise did the dirty work and get rebound goals and clean up goals. He didn’t score Kovalchuk-goals.

Sykora didn’t even dress for half the playoffs. He won’t be missed. We’d all rather see Tedenby and Josefson really get a shot.

Lastly, Zajac will be a 30 goal scorer – or close to it – And he missed the regular season last year. So there’s your 30 goals made up right there.

The Devils are a system team. No one player is irreplaceable. That’s why they’re successful no matter who’s on the ice.

And I am sure you will be missing the Zach you speak of come the end of the season when you are looking for the 31 goals he was responsible for along with Sykoras 21. Clarkson won’t get close to last years totals, his goal tonight was a lucky bounce along with bad positioning on Fedatenkos part.

3 goals in 3 games. Easy to blame Bryz when you don’t watch the game Mr. Millard. This team reminds of the Eagles this past two years. No defense. A coach that doesn’t seem to be willing to address glaring weaknesses. The team doesn’t seem to have a sense of urgency. Time to panic? No. Concerned? No doubt. Danny B will be pleasant addition. And say what you want about he age, Jags is sorely missed.

He might have a decent stat line from this game, but he gave up 2 goals on the 1st 3 shots of the game. That will kill teams even if the goals are not his fault.

They did what any other team across the NHL would do if they were getting beat all over the ice. It’s about providing a spark. Was it smart? No, not at all. But in some games a fight or penalty can flip momentum. I didn’t want them to play that way but they’re desperate. It really felt exactly like last year’s playoff series. They played the third period like they were up 3-0 instead of down 3-0. They were barely skating and never took advantage of potential shooting lanes. Just throw it at the net! Gotta give kudos to the Devils though, they play one hell of a suffocating defense. Takes me back to the Scott Stevens days (which I hated).
