At this rate, we should just bring up the whole Griffins team and slap some Detroit uniforms on the kids.

…Smith has only played a total of 16 games in the NHL… Secondly, watch Ericsson a little more and you’ll probably want to re-evaluate that opinion. He’s “okay” as in “mildly better than Quincy.” *shudder* Last but not least, if we hadn’t brought in Huskins our current D would consist of 3 rookies (Smith, Lashoff, plus random call-up), 2 veterans, and whatever Kindl is supposed is supposed to be–”developing,” I guess. Three rookies. That’s half our back line. That’s INSANE. We’re already going into tonight’s game with 4 rookies in the line-up. None of this Detroit’s too old mumbo-jumbo from you, good sir.

It seems unfortunate that the Wings young D-men aren’t panning out like they should. Ericsson is OK, but Brendan Smith has not impressed me at all, mostly because he has taken costly penalties and has been soft. However, I do not agree with the signing of a Rental Defenseman who is old and slow and doesn’t put up great numbers. The solution is to get young talent, so they bring in HUSKINS. Doesn’t add up.

It’s been a nice 20 year run, but they are still 1-1, and half the teams make the playoffs… so if they make the playoffs but have a down year while some of their youth matures, then I think the organization would call it a successful season still. Remember, this is the only franchise in any sport to make the playoffs for the last 20 seasons and never have a true lull.

Subbon going to Detroit would be like gasoline on a fire. They are struggling in their own end right now without Stuart and Lidstrom. PK doesn’t play defense.

I have a feeling with all the cap space the wings have, that they’ll be upgrading the roster all season.

Yea as a sharks fan, I feel sad that times are changing for Detroit. We had a great rivalry for a few years.
I hope they sort it out by signing or trading for some good players. I’m sure they will, Ken Holland is a genius!

This is weak sauce, Huskins was less than impressive when he was here in SJ, I don’t see him doing anything for the Wings except filling an empty spot.

The wings don’t have a choice, Ericsson, Colaiacovo, and Kindl are injured so we were short one defensemen even after bringing up Lashoff, so we had to sign someone but I think holland has something up his sleeve he wil do a trade for a defensemen soon
