He was one of my favorite Flyers. Inconsistent but unbelievable athletic ability. Very quick and flexible. Needs to work on not crouching so low in the net but he’s only what? 24? Wish the Flyers had held onto him, he might have developed like Rask Or Schneider did as backups. Good luck Bob.

You may play goalie but you’ve never had a player of Vaneks skill level bearing down on you on a 1 on 0 breakaway. That was not Bryzgalovs fault at all. Could he have made more of an effort then immediately going down and then being stuck? Probably. But that was a complete defensive breakdown. If you watched the Flyers two games then you know Bryz has played well, and for once he is not the problem. You can’t fault the goalie when you’re like 44% on the PK.

Relax, I’m not being the least bit serious. It is nice, however, to see the Jackets have a goalie that can actually make an occasional save. Giant step upwards from last season. Of course, bringing Chico Resch out of retirement would have been a step up from Steve Mason. So, best of luck to you Sergei! You have the smallest skates in NHL history to fill. Even if you’re only mildly bad, you’re still better than the last year’s model. As for you, Mase, I sincerely hope you invested your money well. I’m guessing this is the last year you’ll find yourself collecting a NHL paycheck. But, with the Jackets, you really never know.

The team is not playing man de in front of him and clearing the net. He can only do so much! Not to mention he cant score goals for his team… and if they Offence doesnt step up it will be a LONG 48 games….. Bryz plays like he did the past two games and the team around him steps up we will be fine. Man is crazy but hes looking like he did last March….

It this league most people kill for a goalie that can come into his own at 26 or 27… With Bob we would have had that now we have a 32 year old that could have a good season he looks sharp so far, but is on the down side of his career.
