I completely agree. Having 2 goalies like Quick and Bernier is not a bad problem to have. Hold out until you get a great deal.

Trading Bernier is a mistake at this point. Why wouldn’t Lombardi want to see what he has in Muzzin first? By all accounts he’s “ready” for the next step anyways. Berniers’ value is only going to go up as the season goes on.

Trading Bernier for depth d-men doesnt make sense this early in the season. I would wait to pull the trigger on a trade and see if anyone interesting pops up on the waiver wire.

I wouldn’t trade Bernier yet. Quick had back surgury and was supposed to be ready by the start of training. Then the lockout came and he got cleared just before the start of the late training camp. I would hang on to him for a while and think about moving him later in the year. And if you don’t get the right deal Bernier is a RFA next year so he can’t leave for nothing if you keep him for Quick’s insurance policy.
