PHT’s Morning Skate takes a look around the world of hockey to see what’s happening and what we’ll be talking about around the NHL world and beyond.

Habs coach Michel Therrien sat down for a long Q & A with the Montreal Gazette. One of the highlights comes when he discusses how he doesn’t want to make P.K. Subban a better player – he wants to make him a better person, too. (Video, transcript)

Speaking of Subban, RDS’ Renaud P. Lavoie reports that there was no new progress in his contract talks on Wednesday. (Lavoie’s Twitter page)

Fellow restricted free agent blueliner Dmitry Kulikov‘s agent hasn’t made much progress with the Florida Panthers, either. (On Frozen Pond)

Close call: Tom Gilbert reportedly tweak his groin during a Minnesota Wild scrimmage on Wednesday, but the team expects him to play in their season opener anyway. (The Minnesota Tribune)

Jarome Iginla seems like he’s over his own minor groin injury. Good news since he’s in a contract year … (Calgary Sun via Rotoworld)

Anaheim Ducks prospect Emerson Etem admits that it hurts to get sent back to the AHL. (OC Register’s Eric Stephens)

The Matthew Lombardi looks much better for the Coyotes than it originally looked if Sportsnet’s John Shannon is correct that the Maple Leafs retained about $1.5 million of the $3.5 million salary. (Sportsnet’s John Shannon)

I only miss terrien as the pens coach for his interviews. He didn’t grasp the concept of plural words in the English language lol. ” Great game against ze senator” “we played ze capital very good.”

Best Therrien press press conference. Rips the Penguins “soff” defense apart.

No one ever has anything good to say about P.K. Subban’s character. It’s well known other players in the league don’ t like him. He’s known to have had confrontations in practice. To my knowledge, no one on his team has ever come to his defense.

He must be a world class ass.

Looks like Michel isn’t going to put up with PK’s merde…

I just hope that his brother doesn’t have half of PK’s issues.

His biggest issue will be dealing with that racist Boston fan base.

Good luck. Dirtiest player in the league.

Dirtiest player in the league hands down is “Rat Face” Marchand.

Also biggest diver by a long shot.

You might like him in a Habs jersey though.
        No worse than Claude Lemiuex.
