Thank god they aren't keeping Boosh up with the big club. He is way too streaky and his cold streaks way outnumber his hot streaks. He is a great teammate and a nice guy, but we all know where nice guys finish. I have no idea why they didn't snag Ellis for this role. He's way better than Boosh at this (or any other) point in their careers. If Boosh didn't get hurt the Flyers never would have made it past Boston and gone to the finals.

I hate the Flyers, but also feel Bryz will be better. That team wasn't very defensively sound last year and exposed him a lot. If they can play better defense -- shockingly -- his numbers will improve.

Of course, if he doesn't play well, we'll need to look for alternatives.

I agree with those that have said pursuing Bernier (LAK) is a good idea.

I like getting Bernier as our GT much better than making a trade for Luongo (VAN).

I think Bryz will be better this year than last. There are several reasons I think this will occur:

- shortened season with more frequent games (Bryz himself has said he prefers a schedule like this with lots of work back-to-back in a shortened timeframe. He appears to be a GT that feels most comfortable playing loads of games back-to-back)

- Bryz's most recent performance (he was excellent in his last 5 or 6 games in the KHL, posting good stats)

- slightly improved D (the pickups of Schenn, Gervais and Foster should help out somewhat...and the impending return of Meszaros and is great as well...Timmonen is also - for now at least - rested and more healthy)

- Bryz has more confidence (after a year in Philly, he seems to have a better idea of how we play the game here as well as what to expect from the media and what's expected from him as well)

Of course, I could be wrong about all this....but I have a strong feeling he's going to be better this year.

Nicely put nacho (lol). Over the last 25 PHT posts only 3 received 20 comments or more ( less than 30). The last two Flyers posts had nearly 120. Half of which were from penguin fans. Goes to show that this is the best modern day rivalry in hockey. GO FLYERS !!!
