This is good for all stakeholders. Agreements between the leagues have to be honored, and changed when the agreement expires. Good move, KHL.

The only carrot the KHL has to offer is Kirill Petrov but I doubt Garth Snow would accept. The Islanders are now loaded with talented F prospects, many of whom are better than Petrov has shown and Garth has coveted another top 2 D to compliment Streiter for too long. Visnovsky will just have to suck it up and come to the Island. I suspect that he’ll be happier there than he thought.

What exactly does the KHL have to offer in terms of a compromise? Some of those sweet nesting dolls? Tickets to the Opening Ceremonies in Sochi?

Hey, I give the KHL some credit for upholding the agreeement between them and the NHL. Thats the sort of the thing you really shouldn’t get credit for… but the KHL has set the bar kinda low for itself in that reguard.

this is ridiculous. finish your contract and then go where you want. the PA cited a lack of honoring contracts from the owners during the lockout for the money, but that road goes both ways with them expecting you to play…
