What I have seen of Fistric is that his weaknesses are:
1. He is a bit slower than most defenseman
2. He possesses no threat offensively whatsoever

He is a decent young puck moving d-man when he has to be and is very physical. Other than that, he is average.

(Few, if any, third round picks ever play in the league.) That’s a good deal for the Oilers. Sure, Fistric is a UFA this summer, but as a short term solution, this is a smart move by Edmonton. Other GMs are no doubt thinking that they would have given up a bit more had they known Fistric was available…
