Hecht doesn’t belong on the 3rd line. On any team. though I agree, I’d prefer him over Ellis.

It should be:

Ennis Foligno Stafford
Hodgson/Grigorenko Pominville Vanek
Hodgson/Grigorenko Leino Gerbe
Ott Hecht Kaleta

Hecht with Ott at center, and maybe Leino will be a solid line to shut down the Oppositions #1 scoring line. I do think Kaleta is an OK player, just no room for him. Definitly no room If Grigo makes the roster

since your talking about cement legs, I’ll take Hecht over Matt Ellis

Also forgot to mention that he has cement legs. He shows no effort at all to skate at anything but a snail’s pace.

Reliable in all situations? He’s sloppy in the offensive zone, has no vision, always keeps his head down. The guy couldn’t make a tape to tape pass if his life depended on it. He hasn’t been used on the PP in ages.

Kaleta on the other hand has the unique ability to get under the opponents skin. Nobody can draw penalties like him. He draws WAY more penalties than he takes. And the penalties he does take, are almost always mutual penalties – where the other guy goes to the box too, or fighting majors.

I’ll catch crap for this…

$1 mil is not a lot for a solid two way forward that is a great penalty killer, reliable in all situations, and a team leader.

I am glad they did this, keep Kaleta in the minors

Every other team in the league can manage to sign their depth players for 650k. Regier always over pays.

I’m just glad it’s only one year.

I doubt his point total this year will even reach double digits.
