He’s still got some maturing to do as he cracks under pressure easier than the other D-men. I think $2 million/yr for 2 years would’ve been sufficient but he got more. If he’s as good as he thinks he is, he’s got two years to prove it. I don’t think he’s there yet but he has potential.

They already have three stay at home defesemen in Staal/Girardi/McDonaugh… and with Lundquist in net they don’t need another really amazing defensemen. What they do need however, is a decent defensemen who can score…. and thats what Del Zotto is.

After all, the guy had 41 points last year….if not for having a horrible 2010-11 season Del Zotto would have commanded a LOT more money.

Ranger fans are the only ones who are absolutely in love with this guy (not saying they shouldn’t be, but the NY fan base play him off to be much better than he seems to be right now.)

Young kid, but still is not exactly the best defensively. Brings alot offensively, but if he steps up his D game he could blossom into a great defenseman
