Just wondering if anyone knows if the NHL Extra video player will also be playing regional, or if you get to choose? The NHL is dropping the ball with a “national” double header.

Without a doubt! Hawks v. Kings will still be a good game, but what better a way to open up the season for my boys (the Penguins) than to exercise the demons and beat those pricks on their own ice! If the Pens can show that they can beat the Flyers in Philly, I fear no other team. Play good defense, don’t let them get the best of you, and make sure your goalie and powerplay is playing to their full potential, and keep putting shots on Ilya Bryzgalov because his 5-Hole is bound to open.—The blueprint for beating the flyers.

@antkowiak666… That’s the only problem with Center Ice/GameCenter. Since those are nationally broadcast games, there will be no feed aside from your local NBC affiliate.

Wow…that Cup for the Blackhawks seems about a million years ago, and they seem to have only a couple of players left from that team…..will kind of suck not seeing any teams from the other conference, but the games should be intense with playoff berths and positioning at stake every night….drop the puck, I’m ready !

its not a must that crosby and malkin stay healthy. they will feel loosing staal. (I know sutter is no slouch either)

Lame they should have shown one on NBC and the other on NBCSports….Flyer fan here on the west coast and they are going to show Kings game..Im guessing both will be blocked out on Center Ice as well.

i will def be watching this game. Vegas has the penguins as the favorites for winning the cup paying 8-1 odds.

Not a penguins fan i just enjoy quality hockey and the story lines are fun to follow

They actually get better ratings doing two at once, They should do 4 games at once for the first and then one at 4 for best ratings but alot of the time they dont do double headers because of ABCs Double headers and those just slaughter them in ratings, so if they do a bunch of games in the local markets it will just take a bunch of chunks out of the large market of the NBA. Basicly They wont win the national market against ESPN, so they go after the Like teams that are playing.. I feel like i explained that terribly..

Bad idea they should be back to back games the nba does it all the time. And to open the season on a Saturday there should be at least 3 games NBC should have a 12cst game then move on to nbcsn for a mid afternoon and night game. If you really want to bring people back feed them as much hockey as you can.
