Why should NBC air Canadian teams when it’s a American network? Most fans who watch come from both the cities the games air from. When CBC does Hockey Night in Canada, do they air NYRangers vs. Flyers or Buffalo vs. Boston? Didn’t think so..

Caps made it to the second round in the last two seasons, losing a very tough game 7 on the road this past season. Pens have not made it to the second round in last two seasons.

St. Louis is definitely on the rise, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they won the West this season.

Only 23 out of the 70 are Western Conference games and of those 23 only 1 don’t involve Detroit, Chicago, LA, or St. Louis. Pathetic.

“Consistent underachievers” would be accurate for teams like Washington, St. Louis, Buffalo, and most NHL clubs. The Penguins have been definitely among the elite in terms of success the last few years, with star players, hence the added TV coverage. In fact, since the Pens entered the NHL, they’ve won only one fewer Cup than Detroit, while beating the total of Original Six clubs like Chicago, Toronto and New York during that time span.

Pittsburgh should remain a marquee franchise for quite some time, given the strength of talent and ownership.

NBC loves the NY Rangers, Pittsburgh, Chicago, and Detroit. If you aren’t these 4 teams…forget about it!!
(Although Philadelphia, New Jersey and yes…the KINGS get somewhat good time nationally)

@pensfan603 pretty ignorant / uninformed comment. I’m going to assume the comment didn’t come out like you wanted. I have 8 NBC affiliate channels at my disposal with my satellite provider in snowy Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. Plus MSNBC, CNBC, etc. I know NBC doesn’t cater to Canadians but there are a lot of fans in the USA that have favorite teams that are Canadian based. Can’t forget about the snowbirds from Canada who winter in the USA. It’s sad that NBC isn’t showing at least the a couple of crown jewel franchises (ie. Canadiens, Leafs).

Thank you for the coverage NBC but you are missing out by not showing more Wild games. This is going to be an exciting team. Living in WI now, I’m stuck with the Bucks getting priority over the Wild on FSN so I hope there aren’t too many conflicting games. I understand showing the “stars” of the league, hence the Pitt and Wash games, but there are a lot of other fans out here too. Maybe the schedule is a little too biased towards those consistent underachievers.

NBC isnt in canada so they don’t get the large fan bases in canada for those games, so unless its like Bruins Vs. Canadians its not gonna be broadcast, which bruins canadians is. And thats cause the penguins are good.

The only teams getting “much love” Are the red wings, black hawkz, kings, aand penguins.
I feel bad for NBC though they sign the new deal with MLS, and are nationally televising DC VS. NewYork, and then on the same day now nhl network has Rangers, vs Penguins and same time fyi if i am NBC im so poed with NHL right now but they again mls prolly wasnt gonna get great ratings anyways, im still gonna watch the MLS game and prolly have pens rangers on my computer.

Columbus didn’t get much love (not saying they should but…)

two nationally televised games against Detroit, wow lucky them.

I feel so bad for the fans in Columbus. I hope you guys get the #1 this year or at least top #4!!!
