who’s the clown Pierre McGuire? I get bored of his hyper calm voice sometimes… but he’s good.

Emrick used to work for the Flyers too, not just the Devils. I remember Emrick calling Flyer games on PRISM back in the early 90′s.

I can only partly agree. His style is great, BUT sadly he’s always teamed with some clown who yaps way too much during play, so we do miss goals. They should try the mostly Canadian style in which the clown/expert/sidekick speaks during time outs and shuts up during play. Infinitely better!

I personally like Emrick’s style of commentating. He learned from the best… Mr. Bob Chase, who is working his 59th season calling Fort Wayne Komet hockey!! He is 86 years old which is amazing!!

Outside of Doc Emrick (and of course Bob Chase), my favorites were guys like Pat Foley…. guys who really had the passion for the game.

I also like Emrick’s style because you don’t even have to be watching the TV to know what’s going on, and you also won’t miss goals as he foreshadows them so well!!!

Doc is awesome!!! He commentated a Komets ECHL game earlier this season while the lockout was in effect!
