I think people should give Bobby Lu a break. He's an elite goalie but if he can give way to Schneider and let Schneider have a chance to shine, I dont see anything wrong with Bobby Lu being a backup goalie or splitting time 50/50 with Schneider. I agree that he is NOT washed up by any means. Look, I can name about six elite goalies who are backups, in which one of them is a Stanley Cup Champion. You got Brian Elliott of the St. Louis Blues, Martin Biron of the NY Rangers, Jason LaBarbera of the Phoenix Coyotes (and a former Canuck), J.S. Giguere of the Colorado Avalanche, and free agent Dwayne Roloson.

I think you can use your amnesty buyouts on every player of the team for two years.

Btw maybe nobody has to buy him out because i heart teams can now also make trades and keep up to 50% of the salary(cap) but don't kill me on that one.

+1 Toronto would be a nice place for him.

But i will not be surprised if he can still outwork Schneider and fight back to regain his number 1 role on the team if the trade can't get made with a team.

Just for my own curiosity, does anyone know what happens with him if another team trades for him, in terms of, can he still be bought out? So if he was traded to the Leafs, for example, could they still buy him out next year? Or can you only buy out players you signed yourself?

Staying home is not the way to handle himself right now. He needs to be responsible and accountable towards teammates and the employer that signs the checks. The trade will come in due time. Anyway! He won't get paid staying home, and he's going to make things more difficult for Canuck mgmt to wheel and deal if he's a no show.

I'd really like to see this guy play for the Leafs, as a fan of hockey!

To everyone saying this guy is washed up, mentally weak, whatever it may be... he most certainly is not!

Luongo gets this type of media coverage because he is just that good!

It will be interesting to see how Schneider runs the Canucks, with the half season, and his first as a starter, I believe he will be stellar!
