When I was a kid growing up in a little town in Manitoba our entire team taped thier stick like Bobby Orr. One little strip toward the back of the blade. Other teams didn’t call us our home town name they called us the “Bobby Orrs”.

God he was the best player to ever play the game! Good on you Sir for continuing to be a part of the game!

WAS the man. Bobby Orr could change the course of a hockey game. One of the all time greats, his opinion is worth a lot.

they should’ve been PLAYING while working on the CBA. then all that money and games lost would have never happened. but NHL owners don’t like working in that fashion obviously.

Exactly. Guys like Mario and Wayne need to get our from behind desks and speak for the game, not the league. It’s their right of course, but all of these ex-player stars carry more weight than any fans or media.

Bobby is the greatest ever. Love that he stays so involved. I get to see him often at games. Go B’s!

The problem is that most current players think guys like Orr or Lafleur etc can’t relate. That’s unfortunate because labor strife isn’t something that just came about in the last 20 years.

The 300 million dollar make whole was on the table in december. I hope all these current players all play 10 more years so they can take advantage of this pension they lost an additional two paychecks over, kept honest everyday people out of work over the holidays for and sacrificed fan support of the game over.

Pride can be as detrimental as it is useful sometimes.

The game needs more ambassadors like Bobby Orr. He’s given his life to the game, and had much taken from him too (knees, cash and opportunity from Eagleson). The games greats will need to step into the public eye and take some accountability and build some positive PR.
