No, but Datsyuk can lead. The biggest reason for the C would be a couple of things. First, Zetterberg is more vocal. And the second kind of ties in with the first, in that Zetterberg can speak the language much better and thus is able to communicate when necessary with officials, etc.

Your name promotes some bias but to be honest Dat cant speak English. The job of the captain is more than being the best player on the team. Hank will carry the torch very well and has already been a consistent figure in the media. He can speak to the media and rally the team. Its the right move!

Not a Detroit fan, but I think the “C” on Zetterberg and the “A” on Dats is just fine. Really couldn’t go wrong with either of them in what ever order. Both guys are class acts and great pros. I know I hate the Wings whenever my Wild team play’s them but you have to respect that organization.

Bingo. Part of Detroit’s success is the close relationship the management keeps with the players and it’s really from top to bottom. More of a family atmosphere than other teams. That’s how teams should be run.

This is the right move, as long as Pavel doesn’t get hurt in the ASG (but that’s another issue). I think NJ should do the same with Kovy. He clearly wants to play in the ASG in his homeland. Let him do so, and allow him to return to NJ after the game. I doubt Kovy skips out on the Devils (as a Devils fan, I hope he gets back soon. We need his skills, especially with Parise gone now).
