It’d be more fun to have the Wild in town that day, for sure, but the logistics seem to point to a road start.

There’s this huge hockey celebration with all kinds of high school games played outdoors, on ponds, college rivalry (North Dakota at Minnesota) and USUALLY the Wild are the closing act. Pretty big deal in the ‘State of Hockey’, where hockey is as big as it is in Canada. Probably the only state that even comes close to the level of importance hockey is in Canada. It’s not like the league doesn’t know that and I would be utterly surprised if they would chose to open up play on that date and not have the Wild at home in an area that bleeds hockey. So I could see a home & home thing, but probably switched up, 19th in Minny and 20th in Colorado.
