NHLOON, you are correct. Lucic has something called Scheurman’s Disease. It causes him to have a hunched back. It hasn’t really effected him, except doctors have theorized it’s what give him such devastating punching power, from the torque he can generate from his back.

he still has to week to get in shape, but to many to weeks is not enough. only time will tell is to weeks will get these players to game shape.

ps. me thinks not. I expect sluggish players all over the ice until they break their bodies in from actually playing.

You should learn to read. It simply states he isn’t in game shape because he hasn’t been playing in pro leagues, it makes no mention of him not staying in shape.

you guys know about his hunch back correct ? When the Bruins won the cup, reporters were told strictly not to take images of Lucic w/out a shirt on during celebrations in the locker room…. which probably has something to do with his skating and stick handling style.

I agree completely. This years Cup winner will be determined by who has the deepenst bench/AHL system.

Lucic and the rest of the guys better switch back over to PBR or Natty Light. Can’t afford the extra weight.

The first 10-12 games might look like we’re watching college games I feel.

I’m as big a Lucic fan as there is, but you are absolutely right. He’s a poor skater and even worse, watch him try to collect a pass or handle the puck for more than two seconds. He can’t do it. There is a reason he didn’t play in Europe. He just wouldn’t be able to do it and he would be exposed in a big way. The NHL style of hockey was made for Looch and he’s lucky, because if it was a finesse sport with a big sheet of ice he would have no chance. Still a great Bruin though.

Regarding Tkachuk, it was funny but during that lockout he played in a gold tournament up in Boston that was televised on local TV and he looked like Craig Stadler walking around the course. It was embarrassing.

For tkachuk… Yeah -15 is bad but he was on a brutal blues team back then and 36pts in 41gms sure isn’t too shabby.

Lucic is a pile of meat.. He’s got good hands and is a big body in front so he’s effective … But watch him in warmups next time you see him play and the guy can barely cross over. Not a good skater at all.
