LTIR is basically an exception that lets the team exceed the cap by some amount based on their free cap space and the player’s salary. How the new CBA addresses this is likely still being worked out. But given the spirt of this deal (contract % variances and term lengths designed to stop the ‘workarounds’ practiced by Ed Snider et. al.) it would seem logical that the LTIR ‘loophole’ will also be eliminated – or at least minimized.

Trust me…I saw it with my own two eyes on a nightly basis. I’m sure management saw it too.
