If the NHLPA or the NHL feels the other party is in violation of the new agreement and are willing to battle for better leverage in a new deal….they will do it. Honestly 10 years is a long time from a business perspective. A lot can change: ratings could go down or up along with revenue. The key is getting the owners to stop trying to destroy the union and actually hold negotiations before the agreement expires to prevent another lockout. The owners got what they wanted. They dragged this out till the bitter end at the expense of the fans. Greedy bastards
