You obviously haven’t left your beloved America. Each part of the world cares about the sports they play such as soccer/football, rugby, tennis, skiing etc. I don’t blame you for not following those sports but don’t think the world is following all of your sports either. If you have a passport and job, try seeing what else is out there. If not as I suspect you can always tune into American classics like Honey Boo and Cajun Justice. The US is a great place o visit.

Canada is good at one thing and one thing only, hockey. That’s it. Hockey. As an American I’m ok with that cause we’re right there with them in hockey. But every other sport that the sports world cares about, it’s the US. 90% of Canada focuses on hockey, 90% of the USA focuses on sports other then hockey. So I’d say we’re doin pretty good, and Canada should be a lot better then they are. I’d be embarrassed to be a Canadian if my teams didn’t win gold every year.

You say Crosby’s goal in the Olympics was a fluke? What about USA’s gwg? Deflection off a body in front of the net…such a skillful goal!!
USA finished 7th in the tourney last year…I didn’t hear all these comments then.

I have looked at the rosters, they make up most of the 2nd ,3rd and 4th lines, or stratches. The Swedes , Finns, Russians and Chezs make up most of the Scorers /and assist leaders. Ever hear of the Sendin Twins ??

Yes, Crosby’s flunk goal between the post and the USA’s goalie knee won a super tight game that could have gone either way.USA beat a tough Russian team that had already beat the Beavertails to reach the Final, you got to played some softie in the semi.
But your junior team did set new suspension records for goon shots that will stand for years. Congrats.

Typical bitter Canadian! WHY should USA be thanking Canada??? USA doesn’t owe Canada $hit! So, by that logic…every time USA accomplishes something in hockey…we should bow down and praise mighty Canada??? These were AMERICAN born kids who learned to play hockey in AMERICA!!! Nine USA players from CHL teams!? What difference does that make? Should all those Canadian players on the Bruins be thanking America for their Stanley Cup? Because, you know…they are playing in America right!? Of course not! Doesn’t make much sense does it?! USA hockey accomplishments are purely AMERICAN!!! Deal with it. And, Canadians should stop talking trash about their Olympic gold in 2010. If anything, you should all be embarrassed. It took you O.T. on HOME ICE to beat a country that enjoys playing horseshoe, darts, and pingpong more than hockey. Yea, Canada is SOOOOO dominant in hockey eh!?

Seth Jones could become one of the best two-way dmen in the league, and Gibson is should be a real talent in the NHL as well. Certainly wouldn’t mind having those two guys on the back end of my team.

Yup. We produce the most players and the best players. I like how so many people disagree with your comment, probably because it’s 100% true:

Kings – 13 Canadians on their playoff roster.
Bruins – 16 Canadians on theirs.
Hawks – 13 Canadians.
Pens – 11 plus their goalie.

Yea I don’t think us Americans should be putting down Canada just because we won gold this year. They’re still a little above us in hockey but from a year to year basis it differs. And plus of we were the best a hockey, that would mean we’d be the best at pretty much every sport that matters. Look at all the Olympic Games, US always leads the medal count for overall and gold, summer and winter. We have by far the best professional leagues in the world. And other people want to come o our country to play cause we are the only ones smart enough to organize all these leagues.
The US is simply the best overall country at sports and its not even close.

Great points. It’s time for change. USA kids can play with any in world. No need to send them North And most importantly, the NCAA and coaches needs to wake up And realize it. Stop this ridicules screwing of USA kids being shut out of USA colleges for scholarships so they can be filled with USA kids. The only thing USA needs is better youth coaches, you got us there. By the way check out u of MN roster. Hockey is not your sport. Belongs to the world. As for Olympic gold, didn’t Sid the kid come to play in US at shattyck? He did. Sorry, poor loser. At least have all the cups in Toronto and Montreal earned when there was a massive 6 teams in the league. USA USA get used to it. Tough pill, hey loonies?

USA did have a great team this year.

9 of the USA players play in the CHL, so maybe you should be thanking Canada.

You forgot to mention Olympic Gold….oh wait, that was Canada that won.

Also, take a look at the rosters of Stanley Cup winning teams and notice where most of the players are from.

no i want a full-time junior coach for canada to scout other teams, so that canada is more prepared, hockey canada is too corporate and not a team, they always pick a the world juniors coach to be some company yes-man that will be business-like in front of the cameras. The junior national team needs to be run by a professional like kenny holland, and have an old school hard-ass coach like Scotty Bowman.

this tournament was BS, how do you have nugent-hopkins on your rosters and not win a gold, let alone a medal….period.

Get rid of the hockey canada setup, the’yre ruining the game with the overhyping of talent and nicholson always being a media whore, get a low key guy like ken holland to run the damn thing, get a full-time junior coach, that would scout talent year-round, and also scout the other european teams. This team canada was a joke, so undisplined and outta control, and to blame subban is a joke, malcolm did what he could, patrick roy in his prime couldn’t save this team. Amyways congrats to team usa, seth jones is a beast and will be the next pronger.
