Video: Optimism fades on lockout day 111

Jan 4, 2013, 10:00 PM EDT

Donald Fehr: AP

After a dispiriting Thursday, much of this week’s CBA positivity has waned. While a mediator is making trips between the two sides, the NHL and NHLPA haven’t made plans to meet face-to-face on Friday. There’s also no word on weekend meetings just yet.

Oh yeah, we’re just a week away from Gary Bettman’s proclaimed deadline for negotiations.

Will all that in mind, fading optimism is the basic theme of the discussion between TSN’s Darren Dreger and NBC’s Sports Talk crew in the video below:

    Who’s surprised, besides us fans?

There’s that f(cking picture of Fehr again. They can’t lose that fast enough.

It looks like he’s smelling his own fart…and liking it.

        or having a rectal exam.

While yours, & antowiak666’s comments are F#*KING HILLARIOUS, I figured it out : He found he was going on a blind date & then figured out who it was, Gary Bettman ! It was that or, either Westgarth, or Parros was the one who farted . Maybe both, who knows ?

PHT please have mercy….get rid of the photo!

that’s Fehr’s “then I’m taking my ball and going home so nyeah” face

  4. whiteqbs - Jan 4, 2013 at 10:46 PM

Such a joke. They don’t care about the fans one bit or what they are doing to the sport.

  5. flyeredup - Jan 4, 2013 at 11:05 PM

Yes! Shut the league down for 3 years! Great news! I got my $8,000 back from canceling my season tickets. F U NHL!

    • 8man - Jan 5, 2013 at 11:33 AM

Jumpin’ Jiminy Crickets! Serious jack, dude. You are a committed fan. Here’s the bright side, you can easily take part of that refund and go some place warm where lonely, scantily clad hot chicks put umbrellas in your drinks. It ain’t hockey, but it adds a new meaning to “putting one in the net.”

    Didn’t I tell you guys?

These clowns aren’t even attempting to make a deal.

Just HOPE that hockey DOES start next Fall. Don’t just expect it to.

    • stevedurbano - Jan 5, 2013 at 11:54 AM

You are absolutely right. What will magically happen over the summer to resolve the problems? It’s quite possible that the NHL as we know it has already ceased to exist. It seems ironic that the 2 sides are fighting over a revenue stream that they’ve destroyed.

  7. steelers88 - Jan 5, 2013 at 8:19 AM

I’m sick and tired of the NHL lockout. Their both acting like spoiled children. Millionaires VS Billionaires arguing over money while people around the world are starving. Shame on you NHL shame on you.

  8. steelers88 - Jan 5, 2013 at 11:04 AM

Hey guys if they don’t get a deal done before Jan 11th next year might be in danger of a lockout. With Donald Fehr at the helm there might never be a deal.

  9. steelers88 - Jan 5, 2013 at 12:30 PM

Even if the NHL comes back. I might not. I don’t feel like dealing with this in like another 5-10 years.
