Peverley, Eller get ready to leave Finland

Rich Peverley

Rich Peverley and Lars Eller are expected to end their stay with Finland’s JYP Jyväskylä on Saturday, Elite Prospect’s Matias Strozyk reports.

This continues the flow of players returning to North America after overseas sojourns (although there are some outliers, such as Kris Letang’s flirtation with the KHL).

Peverley awaits a significant pay increase whenever play resumes. The Boston Bruins signed the versatile forward to a three-year, $9.75 million deal that kicks off with a 2012-13 salary of $3 million. (At least he can be content in knowing that the work stoppage ate into his least lucrative year.)

Eller’s situation with the Montreal Canadiens isn’t quite as cushy, but he’s still more comfortable than other comparable players. He’s missing out on the first season of a two-year, $2.625 million deal, yet he doesn’t need to fight for a contract if there is an abbreviated campaign.

Both players produced solid work with JYP Jyväskylä; Peverley scored 23 points in 28 games while Eller had 15 in 15.
