As we have learned, it is very different going between different environments. Yakupov went from being “one of the guys” in the higher pressure OHL to “the guy” on a very small team in the KHL. The fact of the matter is, from what I have read, he may be putting up some points in the KHL, but he has had a few run-in or two with his coaches over there. But the truth is you don’t learn about players until they go through adversity. And a guy like Yakupov needs a few “no people” in his life to help him get better both as a person and as a hockey player.

Nuge played 20 fewer games and had the same points. Landeskog got rookie of the year because of his physical play. Thats fine and dandy until his playing style turns him into an injury prone disaster.

No one would care about him if he played to 80% of his capacity 80% of the time, instead of 100% of it 40% of the time.
