And the fact that he says he hasn’t drank since.. that just shows he really doesn’t get why what he did was wrong. It’s not getting sh1tfaced drunk we have a problem with, it’s the idiotic CHOICE he made to drive.

That’s like OJ Simpon saying “ok guys I learned my lesson, I won’t keep knives in my house anymore.”

Sooooo by the sound of it, you condone drunk driving because “he’s still a kid” so that makes it ok?

I got plenty drunk to the point where I could barely walk many times at the age of 19/20/21, and I still knew at that point driving would be irresponsible and flat out wrong. Some people are just selfish, careless, and down right stupid, and don’t care about the outcome of their actions. Alcohol doesn’t change that about you, it doesn’t magically turn off your value system. That’s just the type of person you are.

Give the kid a break. I like him better now. Millions of people drive drunk or under the influence every day. Remember your college days??? He’s a college age kid having fun. I don’t care if he’s a prospect he’s still a kid and kids have fun at least where I’m from. I hate when people say call a cab as well. Who was the last person you knew that called a cab when they’ve been drinking? Usually when you’re drunk you don’t think you are. Everyone’s perfect on the internet. He could’ve killed someone, but he didn’t. GET OVER IT!

Yep, he screwed up bad. And lucky he or anybody else did not Get hurt or worse. That said, hebmanned up. I sure hope he is sincere and gets help. .30 bac is a real sign of big trouble. Good luck young man, stop before it too late. You may not get another chance.

Couldn’t have said it better – coming from a guy his age, I frequently see people drink until they can’t even stand or talk anymore. It’s just part of being in that environment and being that age. Doesn’t make it okay, but behaviour like that does happen and he obviously likes to have a good time.

Never to call someone else an alcoholic, but in my experience, non-alcoholics don’t need to temporarily quit drinking, nor do they ever sit around and wonder if they’re alcoholic or not. It’s also my experience that non-alcoholics can get anywhere close to the .30 BAC range and be functional enough to step into a car, let alone drive one. If he indeed indeed inflicted with alcoholism, he might want to learn that it’s chronic, and that, drinking or not, it always gets worse, and never gets better. Best of luck to him on all accounts.
