so i guess you are happy with the fact that Bettman and the greedy owners locked out the players after a record 3 billion in profits from last year and the highest ratings since before the last lockout? Bettman n these owners r spoiled children. They made these contracts w/ the players…..no one put a gun to their head. Now they are crying because they pay the players too much? Way to go back on your word owners.

agreed! anyone who believes that what a player has to say will have any effect on a deal getting done is an idiot! with him having 3 work stoppages since 1994 (some players involved in all 3), any player has every reason to not trust Bettman. actually the only thing you can trust from this guy is that there will be another work stoppage when the new CBA expires in 6-10 years

In regards to your “dumb” comment…….my point was who are you to call an NHL player, a Professional athlete, “Just a 3rd liner at best” when you are probably no where near a professional commenting on what he says and does. Like I stated above, he is entitled to his opinion, it just gets blown up in the media because of who he is.

i’d agree with you if the guy was calling press conferences to bash. but he’s being interviewed, answering questions that somebody asked him. fans like transparency. i think he’s just a straight shooter that doesn’t dodge questions. simple as that.

Chimera might be a 3rd line guy at best, that is true, but what line or team do you play for?? That’s right you don’t, so who are you to criticize anyone for saying their opinion?? Because he is a Professional Athlete it is all over the news when he says something yet if an average guy or girl says something it is no big deal. Get a life people, stop hating on him for speaking HIS Opinion. The same opinion we all have on Bettman at that. I hate Chimera when he is on the ice as a Flyers fan, but he deserves his opinion. That will have ZERO effect on whether a deal gets done or not. If both sides truly wanna salvage a 48 game season than they have bigger issues to worry about than what one player says.

Seems to be more upset about the process than Bettman. That’s what happens when your time in the NHL is finite (players) against an opposition who’s time associated with the league is much longer.

Chimera……a very average player who has luckily made millions because of the insanity of professional sports. And then he has the gall to dump on those who have been responsible in helping these average players make that kind of money. He was only one skate away from a life career saying “Fries with that?”.

Just a few people. It’s because two people spoke against the player reps, that two more felt obligated to stand up for the Fehr’s. that’s all it is. Personally, I want a tag team hockey fight with Brouwer and Jason on a team versus Hamrlik and Neuvirth. I think Hammer could hold his on, but Neuvy? Not so much. That would definitely eliminate the “who should start in goal” question for the Caps… When all of us Caps fans know that there is a beast in Hershey just waiting for work…. A Holtbeast!!!

As far as I can see this guys an idiot. We are as close to a deal as we’ve been and he decides to make a really dumb and pointless comment. As a Rangers fan I hate this guy. He kicks us in the balls almost every time we play them. We get it Jason, you don’t like mister Bettman. No one does. Pipe down. Go back to the kids table and leave the talking to the big boys.
