If a majority came from weak outside angles, the goalie would barely even need to move to deflect or absorb them – especially when said goalie is a big guy, like Vasielevsky. Just let the D force the shooter to release a bad shot and glove it down, time after time. Phoenix is great at it, hence why Smith and Bryz looked so much better for them than their other teams.

Replays are shown later in the day/evening, but avoiding hearing the scores is difficult at best, unless one avoids all hockey and Canadian media sites. Alas.

In open ice he is dangerous, but he has some trouble being effective in the dirty areas and isn’t strong enough on the puck, so it will be interesting to see if he can make his mark in the NHL eventually.

I’m not sure why Yaroslav Kosov didn’t get a mention in this article seeing as he scored a natural hat trick in the game. Panthers draft pick in 2011, 6’3 – 220 pounds.
