KHL is what’s going on now. This would be a story if it happened in the NHL. The refs are treated differently in KHL, given more respect. The team captains shake hands with them before & after each game, etc. The technology there is v. simple compared to what we have, maybe 2 cameras on the ice, one behind each net. It’s kind of funny to hear the commentator say “where’s the puck?, mmm well, huh…where’s the puck?…AND GOAL!” They’re awesome actually, I’m going to miss their style.
