Kitshky & Mclean – In all seriousness I saw this on TSN’s panel last night. At first I went … “huh? .. what the hell’s going on here?” … and then I realized that obviously these guys in the Canadian media know a helluva lot more than they’re letting on. It’s the same thing in recent days on 1040 with guys like B-Mac, Price and company. They’re all talking “beyond” the CBA resolution and instead already discussing the coming condensed season, etc. The thing you have to remember is that hockey “stateside” is still viewed by the US media with a certain “ah, isn’t that cute” kind of attitude, which is in stark contrast to what Canadian media says and feels. And that’s fine by me, as I still prefer coming to an American news source (MSNBC) for my information regardless. The point is that a deal is obviously already in place and so we’re now just waiting for the official announcement to be made, which I believe is just a few days away now …

Secondly …yaaa blomfeld I think you’ve finally completely lost it.

I listen to the Team pretty much all day every day and they have absolutely never said that. Outside of perhaps a “Hockey Insider” giving an opinion that it could perhaps start mid Jan there’s been literally nothing even close to his “inside scoop”.

The guy who’s already been traded is Luongo, which is probably the “worst” kept secret today in all of Vancouver. Anyway, that’ll be announced circa “5 seconds” after the new CBA is announced. Assorted friends – The above is what they were saying last night on the local news here, without reservation or the least bit of hesitancy. In fact, I’ve been hearing the same thing on both TV and radio for a number of days now (Team 1040, The Fan 590, etc) … and the contrast with the “collective” doubt of a forum like our PHT here couldn’t be starker. Be happy everybody as this crap is going to come to an end shortly !
