How many times have you seen guys (including kids) take a hit like that or harder and skate off under their own power? If it’s an upper body injury below the neck you can take some time to get your breath back but you can sure as hell get up and skate off after that. Get a teammate to help you if you really need it. But getting on a stretcher? Gimme a break. This isn’t soccer.

Dislocated shoulder, broken wrist. Yeah, I guess he was just faking it all. Howson is almost as big an ass as Jenner. The hit was late, thus making it malicious. The Swede was in a vulnerable position and Jenner made no attempt to abort. The puck was long gone when Jenner made his dirt-bag play.

And Spott is an enabler by trying to defend a hit that he would be screaming about if it had happened to one of his players. Spott’s quotes are ludicrous. “Gee, Jenner drilled him after he’d already passed the puck and wasn’t expecting it, but my guy didn’t go after his head or leave his feet, so why should he get tossed?” Hard to believe that idiot is a coach.

He’s exactly right. Mark this day down as that’s a first for Howson.

The fact that the Swede insisted on being stretchered off because his shoulder was hurt is a joke. I hope Jenner doesn’t get suspended, but that guy’s Oscar-calibre performance sure won’t help his cause.
