Huh. Wasn’t some Rangers official comparing him to McDonagh just a few days ago? I mean, I know everyone uptalks their own prospects, but still. Big words.

Then again, the theme of U.S. hockey these days seems to be stellar defense. A lot of the top American prospects seem to be defensemen, so I guess that just shows how deep their defense is going to be.

That surprised me a bit too, he was getting talked up quite a bit at the last camp before heading to Finland. Maybe that was the real tip-off. He’ll be back there next year.
