It’s pretty obvious that there will be no last minute deals to save the season, both sides aren’t even talking. I say let them decide to end the season now and just walk away from the NHL forever. The NHL is the most despicable excuse for a pro sport ever.

Every year new kids are introduced to the NHL, and identify themselves to a player or team. For many, these are inspirations that drive their desire to begin playing the hockey. The NHL and NHLPA are both hurting the growth of their sport. Many kids this year may not have the chance to become an NHL fan. Sad!

There was talk of a 28-game season that year. You would think if they could have ANY kind of season, they’d find a way to do it. How about a 40 game season starting Feb 1. And just for this year, only 12 teams make the playoffs, with the 1 and 2 seeds in each conference getting a bye. And make the first round best of five (again just for this year). Its win-win, the season ends more or less the same time as normal, and every game counts. Of course this would require a compromise from either side, which won’t happen……
