Well, I agreed with the first part of your statement anyway – if he was on the fence, something like that would be enough to dissuade hi, and rightly so. Regardless, we don’t know who he talked to and with the injury concerns that come with it, that might have been as significant an issue as being in a foreign country. Who wants to get a potential injury somewhere you’d be worried about the level of care you’d get after?

I agree that a number have had good experiences over there, and even Lupul’s comments had the connotation that it wasn’t that Russia was horrible, just that it was different from playing at home and having a major language barrier didn’t make things easy.

Actually it’s the exact opposite. They are now trashing Europe because they screwed themselves over by going over there to play. They made it easy for the owners to show that NHL players have other options when it comes to leagues to play in, helping out the owners in court. All of a sudden the players realize the mistake they made, and are now back tracking.

Whilst waiting for these lockout updates ive seen atleast 20 players praise how much they have liked their experiences in Europe. Now Stamkos is going to back out because hes listening to Evander Kane who is acting like a spoiled brat. As for Lupul maybe he shouldn’t have picked the worst team in the KHL.

This whole “dissatisfied with Euro/KHL” bit is just shooting yourself in the foot.

They should be touting how awesome the Euro/KHL gigs are so the owners get nervous. Their current course of action is merely eroding the minuscule leverage they have.

These guys are not too bright. Fehr should have mandated all smiles and giggles re:playing in Europe.

Just sign the deal, its not changing. You are on the verge of straight up losing whatever salary you were due this year, players. WAKE UP!!!!
