Video: Roenick dishes on Kane, social media, fightin’ and bookin’

Dec 14, 2012, 1:35 PM EDT

Here’s NHL on NBC analyst and recent U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame inductee Jeremy Roenick talking to CSN Chicago about a myriad of topics in relation to his new book, J.R.: My Life as the Most Outspoken, Fearless, and Hard-Hitting Man in Hockey.

Enjoy.

J.R.: My Life as the Most Outspoken, Fearless, and Hard-Hitting Man, Self-Deluded, Self-Absorbed, Shameless Self-Promoting Moron in Hockey.

Guy is a joke, why anyone would care to read a book about a guy who never won anything in his life, who’s life after hockey is nothing actually within the game, but being a sideshow act with the media is beyond me.

    Classless

      Never watched hockey huh?

Been watching for a long time, been watching since before J.R. ever entered the league.
There’s a reason that J.R. didn’t last in Chicago despite all his successes there. It’s the same reason why he didn’t last in Phoenix for long, or in Philly for long and why he played for 3 different teams in his final 3 years.

        He’s a goof and all about “J.R.”
There was a time when he looked great, tough and gritty, but then he opened his mouth and turned 27.

I wouldn’t be surprised in the least if he was juicing just like Brind’Amour early in his career and smartly gave it up for health reasons once he got paid and smartened up.
        Yup I went there

Playing in a sport that, at most for a forward, he played maybe 1/4th of the minutes each game and played on mostly mediocre or lousy teams, he had a pretty damn good career, scoring more than 500 goals and all.

After all, in hockey, you can’t ‘win anything’ in your career if you don’t have the team to do it with, Gretzky included. Wait, don’t tell me. Darren McCarty has 4 rings, so he was a better player than JR was?

I couldn’t agree more with J.R. He is a legend who KNOWS what he’s talking about.

I have already replaced the NHL to the ECHL. its not the same talent, but you’d be shocked how many draft picks and NHLers are playing in the league right now. its awesome, Ryan Reaves, Devin Settagucci, Brandon Dubinski, Ryan Clowe, etc. the list goes on and on. It’s way better than the KHL, in my opinion. but then again I hate the euro-trash game they bring to North American Hockey.

For 30 bucks a month I get unlimited ECHL hockey on America One Sports online, including access to the Video On Demand archives of past games!!!

ps. I do not work for the ECHL, I am promoting it out of pure passion for my team, the Fort Wayne Komets, who are celebrating their 60th season with the legendary rink announcer Bob Chase!

Don’t let the NHL ruin your families Christmas! I know there is no way to explain this to the kids, but take them to your local AHL or ECHL teams games! The tradition lives on!
