Unless he has changed his mind, Spezza has already said that he is in. He’s in Switzerland already, and told Ottawa media that he would play the Spengler Cup, then come home, regardless of the labour situation. This of course is barring a settlement in the next 10 days, which sounds remote to say the least…

Or Crosby thinks if the Spengler cup lasts two weeks, and the season starts up in the middle of those two weeks, he’ll need to leave that team to come play in the NHL.

Considering how much time he has spent in the meeting of these CBA negotiations his desire wold seem to be to lace up his skates in the NHL

Actually he needs 8.7 million a year because he is in his prime and the NHLPA would raise hell if he didn’t take what they thing is reasonable market value.

And by the way from a legal standpoint it’s the team that he would be playing in Europe that is required to pay his insurance not him.
