Mark Wahlberg has been nominated for an Oscar, but he might never get the chance to punch Tie Domi in the face in front of thousands of people.

That’s not for a lack of trying though. Wahlberg was promoting his upcoming movie, Broken City, when he issued a challenge to his old friend, according to Yahoo!’s Puck Daddy.

“Hey, Tie Domi, I’m officially challenging you [to a fight],” Wahlberg said. “Because there’s no hockey, I’m officially challenging you to a fight at the Air Canada Centre. Are you in or not? … Don’t duck me. … We’re gonna have to open the double doors so your head can fit through.”

Wahlberg later added that “all the proceeds, including when I knock his teeth out, we’ll give them all to charity.”

Strong words, but they weren’t enough to convince the retired veteran that accumulated 3,515 penalty minutes in 1,020 games to fight.

Domi ultimately passed on the brawl out of respect for Wahlberg’s “pretty face.”

I still remember th day Domi shot water over the penalty box glass and a fan jumped in box with him to fight him…

Hockey tickets: To much to mention

Beer: Way to much to mention

Watching a fan take matters into his own hands: PRICELESS

as a Flyers fan (that game was in Philly), I must say, he did NOT take matters into his own hands. i believe he got a slight beatdown from Domi.

Yep! That was here in good old Philadelphia. Flyers fans always hated Domi……

All fans hated Domi. Flyers’ just more…

I think the last guy to jump into the stands was NBC’s own Mike MIlbury and he beat a guy with his own shoe….

This is what PHT has come to. I want to shoot myself. I blame all involved for no hockey. Shame, but at the very top of my list is Fehr. The players knew when they hired him he’d be a hard liner. He did his job. Not excusing NHL or GB in all this. If it is over, and I still don’t believe it will be, I have never seen more greed, selfishness and childlike behavior in any business. All are to blame. F0 all you guys.

@ducksk – “I want to shoot myself” There are help lines for this type of stuff … kidding or not I don’t think I would ever write something like that on a public forum.

Thats becasue you have a stick up your ass and can’t take a joke apparently…

I dont think the fan took matters into jis own hands. he was leaning over the glass screaming at domi and the glass gave way. the better philly/domi memory was a few seasons earlier when a huge brawl broke out on the ice. domi skated away from both sandy mccarthy and the chief, craig berube. he then skates over to where kaberle has adam burt already held down and domi jumps in to make it a double team. luke Richardson sees this and skates over to even it up, at which point domi literally skates around kaberle in circles like a little kid running around a parked car so luke cant get to him.

Still no match for Ogie Ogalthorpe.

Might be the actual first fight domi would have been in. He should have challenged him to a track meet or a game of hide and seek because he was sure good at running and hiding when things started up after he cheap shot somebody.

@f2maestro – dude lighten up. Take things a little too serious do ya? It’s an expression.

    • f2maestro - Dec 7, 2012 at 11:18 AM

That doesn’t make it less inappropriate. Some thing just aren’t meant to be joked about…

@f2maestro – you are way too uptight…There are help lines for your condition.

I remember the good ole’ days of him and Probie going at it. Wahlberg is bigger, younger and probably stronger, but put them on the ice, and Domi would probably destroy him.

  7. ironmike778 - Dec 7, 2012 at 11:39 AM

@f2maestro – Wow dude, you’re being pretty ridiculous. You really need to lighten up.

I generally consider Brough and Halford to be the funny guys on here, but that tag line was top shelf, Dadoun.
