Come the #%+= ON MAN ! They were making 57% of revenue, why in the hell should they get more ? They already have everything handed to them, like airfare, hotels, equipment, per diem, & anything else they can whine to the owners about not having to pay for ! So if you ask me ; Is 57% enough ? I would have to say it’s to much, with all the stuff the owners have to pay for the players should consider themselves lucky they’re getting 50% & not 43% like the owners have been dealing with !

Well friend they do indeed say a sucker is born every minute but not every sucker has a billion dollars. So no I don’t think that there are a glut of billionaires lining up to buy the Coyotes or any team that they will lose money on. How about this idea then, have the top paid player from every team chip in to buy the Coyotes then they can be player owners and see for them selves which side of the CBA is fairer than the other.

I think you and dumbfeld are a tad over mellow dramatic here. It would be a shame to lose a whole season, but to think that a 100 year old sport is going to die is over the top. Can it change the sport? Heck yes. Just like Eagleson’s shannigans changed the game forever.

Anyone who has the ignorance to fault any player for not agreeing to terms of an (cattle driver) owner is void of clear thinking. Wear the skates, then voice your opinion.

The NHL won’t decide on mediation until after both sides meet again. There won’t be any mediators in this evenings meetings. NHL and NHLPA are set to meet at around 5pm ET. Mediators will be decided on after that meeting (if they’re even necessary at that point). The fact that there are a number of players returning from Europe, my gut tells me a deal will be done and announced soon.

I see… so owners can make as much money as possible but those responsible for making them that money should not make more as revenues increase?? People who are employed and help a company make IDK another $1B+ in revenues shouldn’t get raises either I suppose? We should all just be happy we get any pay, right? Players should be making ’80′s money and the owners should make 2012 money.. sounds about right! Your name says it all… just drop the Joey and feld part pretty much sums it up! Somehow its ok for the filthy rich to get richer but its not ok for the those who make them richer to get a piece of the pie. Are there players who are overpaid.. sure, but in what industry doesn’t this happen in.. its the way it is. Fact is the players are the product and w/out them the owners no longer have a team to own. The players will ALWAYS find some rich guy to buy/own a team.

I don’t know who Boomer is but he must be an idiot if he thinks the player got everything they wanted. Less HHR and contract restrictions are the 2 most talked about issues. And the NHLPA is rumored to have given up ground on those issue. Do you honestly believe that is what the player wanted?

No, that honor still rests with the NBA. Stern did, after all, fine a team for allowing their star players to sit out a game and rest after playing 4 away games in 5 days. However, Stern and Bettman are cut from the same cloth so it’s not out of the realm of possibility yet.
